Courses

The CAAE is currently offering 9 different courses of study.

Certificates for Basic Astrology - Level I, Intermediate Astrology - Level II, Advanced Astrology - Level III, and the Mathematics of Astrology are awarded upon successful completion of examinations with a 70 % or greater passing mark. Examinations for these courses are held 2 times per year (May & November) in locations across Canada.

There are no examinations for Vocational Astrology, Astrology of Relationship, Horary Astrology, Chart Rectification & Counselling Skills for Astrologers. Students are required to successfully complete assignments for these courses.

back to topBasic Astrology - Level I

This course is an introduction to the language of Astrology - the signs, houses, planets, aspects and basic delineation.

Personal charts and others are used as learning tools.

There are no prerequisites for students to take this course.

back to topIntermediate Astrology - Level II

This intermediate level astrology course covers chart patterns, configurations, retrograde motion, interceptions, moon's phases and nodes, chiron.

Emphasis is placed on chart overviews as a means to determine important features in any chart, as well as on chart synthesis and delineation.

back to topAdvanced Astrology - Level III

This advanced astrology course covers the major trending tools and techniques. The first semester is devoted to planetary cycles & transits. This is followed by secondary progressions, solar arcs, planetary returns, eclipses including 'hands on' practice of all techniques.

back to topMathematics of Astrology

This course is about learning the mathematical skills needed to construct a natal chart without the aid of a computer program. Starting with the location, time and date of birth, the student is instructed in the use of the ephemeris, Table of Houses, atlases and a scientific calculator to create a natal chart.

Training is also provided in the calculation of the ACD, the Part of Fortune, Midpoints and the Vertex. Some instruction in basic astronomy is included.
