Courses
The CAAE is currently offering 9 different courses of study.
Certificates for Basic Astrology - Level I, Intermediate Astrology - Level II, Advanced Astrology - Level III, and the Mathematics of Astrology are awarded upon successful completion of examinations with a 70 % or greater passing mark. Examinations for these courses are held 2 times per year (May & November) in locations across Canada.
There are no examinations for Vocational Astrology, Astrology of Relationship, Horary Astrology, Chart Rectification & Counselling Skills for Astrologers. Students are required to successfully complete assignments for these courses.

This course is an introduction to the language of Astrology - the signs, houses, planets, aspects and basic delineation.
Personal charts and others are used as learning tools.
There are no prerequisites for students to take this course.
- Level I (Part 1) - Toronto CentralA new Level I course at Toronto Central location - Yonge/Eglinton area, starting on October 3, 2007, will be running Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 pm!
- Level I (Part 1) - EtobicokeA new Level I class will be starting at the west-end location - Burnhamthorpe Adult Learning Centre (at East Mall), every Thursday 7-9 pm, beginning October 4, 2007!
- Level I (Part 1) - Toronto East YorkA new Level I course starting on October 17th, 2007 in the East York area, will be running on Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 pm!
- Level I (Part 1) - Oshawa, ONA new Level I course will be starting in Oshawa on Monday September 24th, 2007 at 7:00 pm!
- Level I (Part 1) - Cambridge (Waterloo Region)A new Level I course in Southwestern Ontario close to the 401, running on Friday evenings, beginning October 12th, 2007. If demand warrants, a Monday evening session also possible.
- Level I (Part 2) - CalgaryThis is the second half of the Level I class taught by Paul Hewitt in Calgary, starting mid September 2007 and will be running for 10 weeks.
This intermediate level astrology course covers chart patterns, configurations, retrograde motion, interceptions, moon's phases and nodes, chiron.
Emphasis is placed on chart overviews as a means to determine important features in any chart, as well as on chart synthesis and delineation.
- Level II (Part 1)A new Level II (Part 1) 9-week course will be starting on Mon October 1st, 2007 (7-9 pm) at Etobicoke School of the Arts - first time at this location, back in Etobicoke by popular demand!!
- Level II (Part 1) - Toronto East YorkA new Level II class starting on Tue October 16th, 2007 in the East York area, will be running on Tuesdays 6:30-8:30 pm!
This advanced astrology course covers the major trending tools and techniques. The first semester is devoted to planetary cycles & transits. This is followed by secondary progressions, solar arcs, planetary returns, eclipses including 'hands on' practice of all techniques.
- Esoteric AstrologyA one day introductory workshop coming up on Saturday October 13th, 2007 - by Eva Smith, who will also be speaking at SOTA Conference!
- Advanced Astrology - Part 11The second part of Level III 6-week class, focusing on the use of secondary progressions, solar arcs, returns and eclipses
- An Introduction to Fixed StarsA 1/2 day introductory workshop
- Cycles of AstrologyComing Up Soon!! 3 workshops by Priscilla Costello, based on the award-winning book Cosmos and Psyche by Richard Tarnas, a very interesting series that will lead into his visit to Toronto next April!!!
This course is about learning the mathematical skills needed to construct a natal chart without the aid of a computer program. Starting with the location, time and date of birth, the student is instructed in the use of the ephemeris, Table of Houses, atlases and a scientific calculator to create a natal chart.
Training is also provided in the calculation of the ACD, the Part of Fortune, Midpoints and the Vertex. Some instruction in basic astronomy is included.
- Mathematics of AstrologyThis intensive course is for those in the Toronto area interested in taking Nov 2007 examination - new fall 2007 course will run on 3 Saturdays: October 20th, November 3rd & 10th from 1 pm - 5 pm!
- The Astrology of RelationshipsAn advanced level course for those who have completed CAAE Levels I, II and III or equivalent - new class starting up on September 30th, 2007!!!
- Vocational AstrologyDetermining career and profession through an analysis of the birthchart.
- Horary Astrology24-week course based on the work of William Lilly will be held in Toronto, starting Wed October 17th, 2007 at 7 pm.
- TORONTO COUNSELLING SKILLS COURSE4 Saturdays. Please contact Christina to reserve your place. Deposit required.
- An Introduction to Chart RectificationA new rectification course will be starting on Sunday October 21st, 2007!!! It will run over 5 Sundays - 2007 dates confirmed for October 21st, November 11th and November 25th!
